How Gals & Ghouls Was Born

Our story begins in makeup school, where two aspiring artists, Dayna and Meghan, became fast friends—not because we shared a love for makeup (although that helped), but because we bonded over our shared frustration with...well, pretty much everything! From complaining about school assignments to venting about the industry, we couldn’t help but laugh at how much we had in common.

The more we talked, the more we joked about starting a business together. At the time, it was just that—a joke. But as we approached graduation, we found ourselves taking on more weekend gigs, getting lost in the creative process, and realizing this wasn’t just a pipe dream—it was something we could really do.

One fateful day, after a photoshoot where we had to call off work, we sat down over a beer and finally made the decision. We quit our 9-to-5s and jumped headfirst into creating Gals & Ghouls. What started as a side project quickly turned into our passion—and we haven’t looked back since.

At Gals & Ghouls, we believe everyone deserves to feel empowered, glamorous, and totally themselves. Embracing our weirdness and uniqueness has always been at the heart of what we do. Whether it's bridal beauty or special effects makeup, we are here to celebrate every client’s individuality and help them feel as confident as they are unique.

Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to say that Gals & Ghouls is more than just a business—it’s our love letter to creativity, authenticity, and having fun while doing it. With a team of talented artists, we’re still here doing what we love: making our clients feel beautiful, empowered, and ready to take on the world.
